In Valcanale and in Malborghetto-Valbruna you’ll find a wide range of welcoming accommodations nestled in the unspoiled nature of the Julian and Carnic Alps, offering all the comforts for an unforgettable holiday.
Starting from 1 April 2026, the Municipality of Malborghetto-Valbruna will introduce a tourist tax (Municipal Council Resolution No. 11 of 23/01/2026).
The tax is payable by all guests staying in accommodation facilities within the municipal area and applies for a maximum of 7 consecutive nights.
The tax amounts are as follows:

1–2 star hotels: € 1.50

3 star hotels: € 2.25

4 star hotels and higher: € 3.50

Open-air accommodation facilities (campsites and equipped areas for temporary stays): € 2.00

Tourist rentals (holiday homes, B&Bs and other accommodation not listed above): € 1.50
The tax is per person per night and is collected directly by the accommodation provider on behalf of the Municipality.
Exemptions
According to the Municipal Regulation on the tourist tax, the following categories are exempt:

Children under 12 years of age

Non-self-sufficient persons with disabilities with appropriate medical certification, including one accompanying person

Personnel belonging to the State Police, Local Police, Armed Forces, National Fire Brigade and healthcare staff staying for service-related reasons

Persons staying in accommodation facilities following measures taken by public authorities to deal with emergency situations resulting from disasters or extraordinary events and for humanitarian aid purposes
